Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University-New Brunswick
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for multiple faculty positions, at all levels, with a start date of fall 2020. These positions were created partially due to the growing opportunities between ISE and the Packaging Engineering Program at Rutgers.
We seek outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in ISE or a related engineering discipline and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching.  In particular, candidates whose research interests may contribute to Packaging Engineering are encouraged to apply. Our faculty inspires and leads innovative high-quality research programs supported by federal and state agencies and industrial partners.  The faculty are dedicated and enthusiastic teachers and mentors for our students at all levels. The Rutgers Packaging Engineering Program has a rigorous engineering-based curriculum and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program. Rutgers ISE Department is routinely ranked among the top twenty nationally in the discipline.
We welcome applicants pursuing fundamental, original research applied to compelling, interdisciplinary problems.  Research areas of interest include machine learning/AI and data science; applied optimization in distribution and logistics; sustainable packaging and manufacturing; innovation and extended reality; food and pharmaceutical packaging; automation and robotics; supply chain/value chain and product life-cycle management; Industry 4.0 and IoT; biomedical devices; and energy.
