The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at the
University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track position at
the assistant/associate professor level to begin in Fall 2020. We are
particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in operations
research, simulation, and/or data science/analytics. Other areas of
specialization may be considered.

We seek outstanding candidates with an earned PhD in ISyE or a closely
related engineering discipline. The successful candidate should demonstrate
the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching, the capacity to
establish and maintain a vigorous research program in an undergraduate
academic setting, and are committed to advancing the university mission in
issues of justice and care of our common home. The inclusion of
undergraduate students in research projects is highly valued and
encouraged. Teaching responsibilities may include introductory and
upper-division courses at the undergraduate level, in operations research,
simulation, data science, systems engineering, supply chain and operations
management, manufacturing, senior capstone design projects, and the
first-year engineering sequence. The candidate will also play a key role in
the development of new academic initiatives and industry partnerships that
will improve student learning and the impact of the university.

The Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering of the University of San Diego is
