Non -Tenure-Track Clinical Faculty Position
Operational Excellence: Integrated Lean Six Sigma
The Department of Integrated Systems (ISE) at The Ohio State University, one of the nation's top ten public universities, invites applications for a non-tenure-track clinical faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor focusing on integrated lean six sigma to begin as soon January 2, 2020. ISE offers degrees (BS, MS and Ph.D.) in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and its undergraduate and graduate programs are consistently among the top programs ranked by USNWR.
Responsibilities:
* Teach 4-5 courses per year to undergraduate and graduate students
* Attract and secure capstone project opportunities and funding from industry sources
* Provide student mentoring and advising
* Restructure, develop and establish courses following accepted higher education standards
* Collaborate with ISE and Engineering Education Department (EED) faculty to improve capstone and other experiential learning for ISE students specifically and engineering students more generally
* Provide significant national/international service
* Publish scholarly papers in engineering education or related fields; and present at conferences
Required Qualifications: Successful applicants should hold the following qualifications:
* PhD or a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and a degree in an engineering discipline (Industrial or Systems Engineering Preferred)
* Achieved a rigorous Integrated Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification (Master Black Belt Strongly Preferred)
* Be able to teach effectively in undergraduate and graduate programs; develop effective mentoring and coaching skills
* Have extensive industry experience in operational excellence, operational analytics, business process improvement and reengineering
* Be able to develop and manage relationships with project sponsors
* Active engagement with relevant professional organizations (e.g. ASQ, ASCM/APICS, IISE)
* Have project management experience (PMP Certification preferred)
* Have extensive experience with Operational Excellence Programs, Operational Analytics, Simulation, DOC, and Statistical Analytics (Minitab preferred)
* Be able to teach, train, coach both DMAIC and DCDOV (Design for LeanSigma)
