[Iefac.list] Highlight for IISE 2019 DAIS Track Activities

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As the 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo draws close, we would like to
highlight the following activities at Data Analytics and Information
Systems (DAIS) track:
*1. *This year the DAIS track has a total of 164 presentations to be hosted
in 44 sessions.
*2. *The DAIS Best Student Paper Competition, chaired by Dr. Ying Lin
(University of Houston) and Dr. Na Zou (TAMU) will be held at 8:00 AM-9:20
AM, Sunday (May 19th) in the room Wekiwa 5. Four finalists are selected
from a pool of high-quality submissions according to a double-blind review
process. The finalists are listed as follows:
Dan Li, “Detection and Distinction of Replay Attack and Equipment Faults in
SCADA Systems,” Institution: Georgia Institute of Technology, Advisors: Dr.
Kamran Paynabar and Dr. Nagi Gebraeel.
Mojitaba Khanzadeh, “Fast Prediction of Thermal History for Direct Laser
Deposition Processes Using Network-based Tensor Regression,” Institution:
Mississippi State University, Advisors: Dr. Linkan Bian.
Jialei Chen, “A Functional-input, Functional-output Emulation Model for
Efficient Tissue-mimicking via 3D-printed Metamaterial,” Institution:
Georgia Institute of Technology, Advisors: Dr. Chuck Zhang.
Di Wang, “Spatiotemporal Multitask Learning for 3D Dynamic Field Modeling,”
Institution: Peking University, Advisors: Dr. Xi Zhang and Dr. Kaibo Liu.
*3. *The DAIS Best Track Paper Competition, chaired by Dr. Sinan Onal
(SIUE) and Dr. Chen Kan (UT Arlington) will be held at 11:00 AM-12:20 PM,
Sunday (May 19th) in the room Wekiwa 5*.*All papers submitted to DAIS track
are eligible and 4 finalists are selected from an additional double-blind
review process. The finalists are listed as follows:
Mehmet Yildirim (SUNY Binghamton), Mohammed Aladeemy (SUNY Binghamton), Amy
Booth (United Health Services), Sreenath Chalil Madathil (SUNY Binghamton),
and Mohammad Khasawneh (SUNY Binghamton), “k-prototype Clustering Algorithm
for Segmentation of Primary Care Patients.”
Sara Masoud, Bijoy Dripta Barua Chowdhury, Young-Jun Son, Russell Tronstad
(University of Arizona), "Markov-chain Monte-Carlo Sampling for Optimal
Fidelity Determination in Dynamic Decision-Making."
Yi Cai and Jesse Derouin (North Carolina A&T State University), "A Low-cost
Onboard Sensing Device for Road Surface Condition Assessment."
Haluk Damgacioglu, Alyssa Guller, Nurcin Celik (University of Miami), "A
Distance-Based Network Simulation for Airport Runway and Priority
Scheduling."
*4. *The DAIS Mobile App Competition, chaired by Dr. Andrew Yu (UTK) and
Dr. Chen Kan (UT Arlington), will be held at8:00 AM-9:20 AM, Sunday (May 19
th) in the room Wekiwa 4. The finalists are listed as follows:
Sura S Mansi, Anuja A Bhide, Narasimha Prasath Krishnan, Ingyu Lee, SUNY
Binghamton, “TeleHealth for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy”
Bagheri, Behrad (University of Cincinnati), Sahar Khamsehi (SUNY
Binghamton), “WayPal: Hospital Interactive Wayfinder.”
Shivam Goyal, Sarthak Majithia,Shane Potchana, The University of Texas at
Arlington, “Mind-Mind: Smart Daily Care for Dementia Patients.”
*5.*The DAIS Town Hall meeting is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 3:20 PM on
Sunday (May 19th)in Room Wekiwa 5. The winners for the competitions will be
announced during this Town Hall meeting. Everyone is welcome.
