Assistant Professor in Energy Analytics


The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level focusing on data science and analytics with applications relevant to the oil and gas industry and related areas. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2019. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, operations management, or a related discipline by the time of appointment.

The Gallogly College of Engineering is investing in a strategic research cluster in oil and gas exploration and production (E&P). As part of that cluster, this position will bring deep expertise in the development and application of data science and analytics techniques and methodologies to address challenges faced by the E&P industry. The successful candidate is expected to build and collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary program of externally funded research that bridges fundamental science and industry-based problems. The successful candidate is also expected to design and deliver an interdisciplinary graduate-level curriculum as part of the Data Science and Analytics program (www.ou.edu/coe/dsa<http://www.ou.edu/coe/dsa>) that would serve the needs of all engineering majors with an interest in working in oil, gas, and natural resources.
