Dear Colleagues:

The Manufacturing and Design Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Manufacturing and Design Track at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo. The conference is a forum for exchanging knowledge and discoveries in the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner communities. The 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo integrates research and industry under one conference.

As track chairs of the Manufacturing and Design Track, we would like to encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract of your innovative new ideas in manufacturing and design. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in a session at the conference. Regular sessions will be 80 minutes and have four presenters. Each speaker will have 20 minutes for his or her presentation (if the speaker needs additional time, two abstracts with the same speaker name can be submitted to allow the speaker 40 minutes). Two-page abstracts are welcome for the Manufacturing and Design Track in the following areas:

Materials Processing and Manufacturing
Manufacturing Machines and Equipment
Design for Manufacturing
Lean Manufacturing Systems
Engineering Materials and Mechanics
Additive Manufacturing
IOT and Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0
Big Data and Data Analytics  in Manufacturing
Mobile Manufacturing & Software Applications
Product and/or Process Design & Planning
Decision and/or Cost Models for Manufacturing
Micro/Nanoscale Manufacturing
Biomedical Manufacturing
Energy Manufacturing
Green Manufacturing and Sustainability
Digital Modeling and Manufacturing
Advanced Automation & Robotics
Applications for the Manufacturing Industry
Manufacturing Education

We invite all presenters to submit abstracts for consideration in this year's proceedings. Abstracts are limited to two pages at most in pdf format. The abstract should contain results that are significant and have archival value to the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner community. Once accepted, you will have the option of oral presentations with a mandatory 200-word abstract, and optional full papers (six-page limit) and will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Accepted full papers will be copyrighted and indexed in the conference proceedings.

The important deadlines for the conference are listed below (NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS)

* Abstract Submission Deadline at most two pages (in pdf-format):           November 9, 2018
* Notification of Decision on Abstract:                                                                  November 30, 2018
* Submission of  Mandatory Abstract and Optional Full Papers:                   January 18, 2019
* Notification of Decision on Paper:                                                                      February 19, 2019
* Final Version of Full Paper Due:                                                                           March 5, 2019
* 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo                                                             May 18-21, 2019

If your abstract or paper is accepted: (a) the presenting author for the paper must register for the conference (presentations/papers without the presenting author registered for the conference will be withdrawn from the program and the proceedings); (b) the presenting author must attend and present the paper at the conference (presenting authors who fail to attend will have their paper withdrawn from the proceedings); and (c) we ask that you be ready to serve as a reviewer for fellow authors and follow review deadlines - all authors who submit a paper are expected to review two papers.
