Dear Colleagues:

The Engineering Economy Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Engineering Economy Track at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo. The Engineering Economy track seeks to improve decision making using economic feasibility and justification. The track accepts work that shares cases, research findings, or industry applications in all areas of economic and investment analysis. The track also welcomes panel sessions addressing contemporary issues in the field of engineering economy research and education.

As track chairs of the Engineering Economy Track, we encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract in the following areas:

*         Asset Management

*         Capital Investment Analysis

*         Financial Engineering

*         Cost/Benefit Analysis

*         Prices and Portfolios

*         Real Options

*         Life-Cycle Cost Assessment/Management

*         Energy and Engineering Economy

*         Value Chain Management

*         Technology Replacement Management

*         Engineering Economy Education

*         Entrepreneurship and Innovation

* Economics of Supply Chain Management

*         Analytics in Engineering Economy

* Other areas in economic and investment analysis
Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work. Each session will be 80 minutes, and 4 authors will present in a session.

We strongly encourage all presenters to submit a full-length paper for the conference proceedings. Full papers should contain results that are significant and have archival value to the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner community. Full papers have a six-page limit and will undergo a double-blind peer review process with more rigor relative to the extended abstract. All authors who submit a full paper are expected to review two full papers (as appropriate) for fellow authors. Accepted papers will be copyrighted and indexed in the conference proceedings. Please also note that the Engineering Economist, a journal published by IISE and ASEE, is collaborating with the Engineering Economy Division to identify a select group of papers to be submitted and considered for publication in The Engineering Economist journal after further development by the authors. The journal's usual review process will be followed.

Important deadlines for the conference are as follows:

*         Abstract Submission Deadline: November 9, 2018

* Notification of Decision on Abstract: November 30, 2018

* Submission of Full Papers (optional): January 18, 2019

* Notification of Decision on Paper: February 19, 2019

* Final Version of Full Paper Due: March 5, 2019

* 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo: May 18-21, 2019
If your abstract, or full paper is accepted: (a) the presenting author must register for the conference (presentations without the presenting author registered for the conference will be withdrawn from the program and the proceedings); and (b) the presenting author(s) must attend and present the paper at the conference (presenting authors who fail to attend will have their paper withdrawn from the proceedings).

There are also opportunities to organize invited sessions, panels, and tutorials. In addition to research and practitioner presentations, the annual conference offers many opportunities for attendees, including plant tours, networking, and keynote speakers.

The Engineering Economy track has two awards: Division best paper and student best paper awards (http://www.iise.org/Details.aspx?id=38048). All accepted and eligible papers will be reviewed and evaluated for these awards. The first place winners will get framed certificates and their names will be listed in Honors & Awards program.

We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
