Dear colleagues,

The Process Industries Division of the Institute of Industrial and System
Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Production Planning and Scheduling Track
at the 2019 Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC).
The ISERC, which is part of the IISE Annual Conference and Expo, is a forum
for exchanging knowledge and discoveries in the industrial and systems
engineering research community.

The Production Planning & Scheduling (PPS) track gathers academicians and
seasoned industry practitioners to present cutting edge research and proven
solutions for applying ISE principles within the production planning and
scheduling domain. This track accepts abstracts that share research
findings, case analysis, and industry applications in all areas of
production system modeling, planning, control, and scheduling. As track
chairs of the Production Planning and Scheduling Track, we would like to
encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract.
Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in ISERC
sessions. Each session will be 80 minutes and have 3 or 4 presenters.
Abstracts are welcome in the following areas:

Smart manufacturing and IoT

Optimal and robust process design

Models for planning and scheduling

Sustainable manufacturing

Process simulation and optimization

Advanced sensing, diagnostics and prognostics

Materials and capacity requirement planning

Aggregate planning

Kanban, just-in-time, and push/pull systems

Routing/guidance of AS/RS and AGVs

Maintenance resource allocation

Facilities layout and location

Production sequencing and routing

Enterprise resource planning

Shop floor control

Production/load leveling

Smart grid allocation

Queueing models

Batch and lot sizing/make-to-stock

Flexible manufacturing systems

Sensor-based system informatics

Process safety and risk management

Assembly line balancing

Inventory management and control

Operations scheduling

Forecasting

Group technology

Human resource allocation

We strongly encourage all presenters to submit a full length paper for the
conference proceedings. Authors can select to publish their papers or not.
The papers should contain results that are significant and have archival
value to the industrial and systems engineering research community. Full
papers have a six-page limit and will undergo a double-blind peer review
process. Author indicates whether the paper should be considered for best
track paper award and(or) publication in conference proceedings.
Presentations without a paper are acceptable, but will not be indexed in the
conference proceedings.

The important deadlines for the conference are:

. Abstract submission deadline:
November 9, 2018

. Notification of Decision on Abstract:
November 30, 2018

. Submission of Full Papers (optional but encouraged):
January 18, 2019

. Notification of Decision on Paper:
February 19, 2019

. Final Version of Full paper Due:
March 5, 2019

If your abstract or paper is accepted: (a) the presenting author for the
paper must register for the conference by the presenting author registration
deadline (presentations/papers without the presenting author being
registered for the conference will be withdrawn from the program and the
proceedings); (b) the presenting author must attend and present the paper at
the conference; and (c) we ask that you be ready to serve as a reviewer for
fellow authors and follow review deadlines.

Papers that are accepted (whether or not they are included in the
proceedings) may also self-nominate for consideration for the Best Paper
Award.

There are also opportunities to organize invited sessions or panels. Please
contact Dr. Feng Ju or Dr. Jie Song directly if you have interest. In
addition to research presentations, the annual conference offers many
opportunities for attendees, including the Applied Solutions Conference
program, plant tours, networking, and keynote speakers.

We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
