The Taylor and Francis's new book series on Advanced and Additive Manufacturing is intended to provide a scientific and practical base for researchers and practitioners involved in developing and implementing new and innovative tools and methodologies in design, engineering, and advanced manufacturing. The focus of this series is on introducing new and advanced engineering and manufacturing topics which will significantly enhance the American manufacturing industries' competitiveness and result in compelling improvement in their contribution to create employment and increase profitability. American manufacturing sectors have been faced with unprecedented challenges that are threatening the future of manufacturing as well as the fundamental structure of the US economy. Emerging countries that traditionally relied on their lower labor costs as their competitive advantage are progressively narrowing the productivity gap and are slowly taking a larger share of the US manufacturers in the global market. More importantly, significant increases in production and operation costs including direct and indirect labor and raw materials costs, coupled with the ever increasing cost of energy directly influenced and heavily contributed to lower profitability of the US enterprises.
Authors and editors are invited to consider this book series for their publications and submit their proposals in closely related areas. For more information and copy of the book proposal please contact the editor at akamrani at uh.edu<mailto:akamrani at uh.edu>.
