The Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas is seeking graduate students with interest in Manufacturing to fill at least one funded MS or PhD research assistantship.  Specific needs include robotics and additive manufacturing, but general background and interest in manufacturing systems/processes is also of interest.  Students with a background in any engineering discipline or computer science are welcome to apply.  Minimum qualifications include:

  -Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline

  -GPA ≥ 3.2

  -Strong GRE quantitative score

  -Strong GRE writing score

  -Strong programming skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  -Master of Science degree in a relevant discipline

  -Research and/or industrial experience

Research and/or teaching assistantships are available starting in the Fall semester 2018.  These include a competitive stipend, full tuition, and subsidized health insurance.



Successful candidates will work and study in the AT&T Manufacturing Automation Laboratory.  The lab is equipped with three Adept industrial robots, a Baxter collaborative robot, a Universal Robots collaborative robot, a Turtlebot mobile robot, and a Stratasys additive manufacturing machine.
