We are seeking applicants for a tenure-track position (#003752) at the
assistant professor level in big data, data science and data analytics. We
are primarily interested in the candidates with the domain expertise in one
or more of the following areas: energy, healthcare, transportation, supply
chain and financial services. The ideal candidate will

1.   have an earned Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations
Research, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Civil
Engineering, or a related field;

2.   actively seek external research funding and develop a strong research
program;

3.   demonstrate potential in publishing in high quality peer-reviewed
journals;

4.   have a strong commitment to teaching excellence;

5.   actively contribute to the further development and growth of the SEEM
Department; and

6.   have the potential and interest to work closely with local industries.

The Department offers a BS program in Systems Engineering and an
online/on-campus MS program in Engineering Management. The online MS
program is ranked among the best programs by US News. The faculty members
in the department participate in doctoral education through an
interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Infrastructure and Environmental Systems (INES).
The Department has approximately 190 undergraduate and 90 graduate students.

UNC Charlotte is an urban research university and part of one of the oldest
