Dear Colleagues,
The Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) Conference has a special session entitled Data Analytics in Additive Manufacturing (AM). Although, the last date for submitting an abstract has officially passed, there is a short 2 to 3 day window wherein the system will still accept new abstracts.
The conference website is: https://<https://sffsymposium.engr.utexas.edu/information>sffsymposium.engr.utexas.edu/information<https://sffsymposium.engr.utexas.edu/information>
The SFF Conference is held each year around mid-August in Austin, Texas; this year the SFF conference is scheduled for August 13th through August 15th with over 650 presentations expected.
This is the first time a special session in Data Analytics in AM is being organized at SFF, thus paving the way for greater participation by our Industrial Engineering community in this vital aspect of AM research.
A brief description of the session is appended hereunder.
Data Analytics in AM
Session Organizer, Prahalada Rao, University of Nebraska at Lincoln
There is a burgeoning need to integrate in-process sensing and data analytics to overcome the process repeatability and part quality-related challenges in Additive Manufacturing (AM). These research thrusts are rooted in the analysis of high volume, variety and velocity of data with concomitant challenges from the domain of Big Data analytics. Accordingly, this special SFF session on Data Analytics in AM seeks papers in the following broadly defined areas:
Sensor fusion and data analytics for In-process quality assurance
Online process monitoring and defect mitigation
Sensor-based process-machine interaction modeling
Post-process data-driven, non-destructive metrology and measurement.
Regards,
Prahalad
