The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of
Minnesota-Twin Cities invites applications to fill two full-time,
tenure-track faculty positions beginning Fall 2018. We seek candidates with
a strong methodological foundation in Operations Research (OR) and
Industrial Engineering (IE). Individuals whose interests and backgrounds
are at the intersection of OR/IE with other fields such as Computer
Science, Statistics, and Economics, are encouraged to apply. Applicants
should have a demonstrated interest in applications including, but not
limited to: business analytics, energy and the environment, healthcare and
medical applications, transportation and logistics, supply chain
management, and service systems. Applicants at all ranks will be
considered. Senior applicants must have a particularly strong record of
research and teaching accomplishments, scientific leadership and creativity.

Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering,
Operations Research, Operations Management, or a related discipline and
have demonstrated the potential to conduct a vigorous and significant
research program as evidenced by their publication record and supporting
letters from recognized leaders in the field. The candidate's expertise and
documented research activities must demonstrate a strong potential to
enhance both the department's research and the undergraduate and graduate
teaching missions. Successful candidates are expected to build strong,
externally funded, highly visible research programs and to become
recognized leaders in their field. Information on the current research
activities of the department can be found at isye.umn.edu/research. The
ability to teach effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels
to a diverse group of students is required.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) is the newest
department within the College of Science and Engineering, a highly
interdisciplinary college of engineering, physical sciences, and
mathematics. The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (UMTC), is among the
largest public research universities in the country, offering
undergraduate, graduate, and professional students a multitude of
opportunities for study and research. Located at the heart of one of the
nation's most vibrant, diverse metropolitan communities, students on the
campuses in Minneapolis and St. Paul benefit from extensive partnerships
with world-renowned health centers, international corporations, government
agencies, and arts, nonprofit, and public service organizations.

Applicants should apply online at z.umn.edu/ISyEf17. Applicants are
encouraged to apply by November 1, 2017 with review of applications
beginning immediately and continuing until the positions are filled.
Applicants interested in meeting with current ISyE faculty members at the
2017 INFORMS Conference in Houston, Texas should apply by September 24. We
particularly welcome applications from candidates from diverse cultures and
communities because we believe that diversity enriches the classroom and
research experience at the University. Candidates may contact the chair of
the search committee at isyesrch at umn.edu.
