[Iefac.list] USF IMSE - Associate/Full Professor and Instructor Position

Dear colleagues,

The Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering (IMSE) at the University of South Florida invites applications for the following two positions starting in August 2018:

- a full professor/associate professor position

Research and educational interests of the applicants should intersect with the departmental core methodological research thrusts in data analytics with applications in smart city/urban infrastructure (including healthcare systems, electricity, water, transportation, and public health), and advanced manufacturing including bio-manufacturing. Preferred qualifications include fundamental expertise in statistical data mining/modeling, data fusion, computing architecture, and/or large-scale optimization with research applications in one or more of the above areas. Candidates with a sustained record of excellence in funding from competitive (preferably) federal and private sources as well as significant volume of high impact publications are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in industrial engineering or related field.

- an non-tenure track instructor position

Teaching and research interests of the applicants should be focused broadly on areas of engineering management. While the selected candidate will also be required to teach courses in the general area of industrial engineering, primary emphasis will be to further develop innovative instructional efforts (particularly, but not limited to, developing courses in one or more the areas of engineering the organization, behavior, and technology-based finance/accounting/entrepreneurship) to enhance our ranked Master of Science program in Engineering Management. Demonstrated interest in research and scholarship via engaging in problem solving for industry will be a plus and may be considered as part of work assignments. Industry consortium in the department and the newly formed Institute of Applied Engineering in the college will provide avenues for research engagement. Added qualification for this position will include industry/business experience in management cadre with responsibilities in one or more areas of projects, operations, finance, accounting, organization, and human resources. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in engineering management/industrial engineering or related field, or be in a position to clearly demonstrate earning such degree before the beginning of fall 2018.
