Graduate Research Fellowships in Homeland Security

The Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAEO), a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence housed at Arizona State University, seeks highly motivated Ph.D. students for its Graduate Research Fellowship program in Homeland Security. Potential students must be interested in pursuing a Ph.D. with research interests related to the application of Data Analytics, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, Economic Analysis or Risk Analysis for improving Homeland Security.  Recipients will be expected to work closely with faculty mentors and homeland security component agencies to develop and implement new methodologies that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of protecting the homeland.

Fellowship awards are expected to start Fall 2018, and will cover educational expenses plus a $30,000 annual stipend.  Requirements include U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. Applicants with demonstrated research experience and an M.S. are preferred. Fellows will be required to enroll in a relevant Ph.D. program at ASU and maintain satisfactory performance in both their academic program and research.
