Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to serve as a proposal reviewer for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society's 2017 International Annual Meeting technical program for the Healthcare Technical Group. The meeting will be held October 9-13 in Austin, Texas. Proposals are due on March 6, and reviews must be completed no later than April 10. Below are some additional details about the job.
Once you have confirmed your willingness to review, HFES will send you a link to log in to the online submission/review site to update your contact information and select/update your expertise areas. (You can also change your password.) This will help to ensure that proposals I assign to you match your expertise areas as closely as possible and, more important, that e-mails containing your review assignments reach you without delay.
Automated messages from the online submission/review site will be coming from HFES2017 at Mirasmart.com<mailto:HFES2017 at Mirasmart.com>. Please make any necessary adjustments to your e-mail program or firewall to ensure that messages from this domain come through. If you prefer that we use a different e-mail address for reaching you about the proposal review process, please send it as soon as possible.
Because of time pressures, proposals for the HFES International Annual Meeting cannot be reviewed as closely as manuscripts submitted for journal publication. Nevertheless, I would appreciate your providing a paragraph of comments on each proposal that you review. Your comments and suggestions for improvement will be forwarded to the proposers when I send acceptance and rejection letters. Please use discretion when wording your comments.
I would also be interested in hearing from you regarding program ideas or suggestions you might have—for example, people for invited addresses, groupings of papers, and timely topics we should cover. In addition, feel free to send me names of colleagues who might be qualified to review proposals for the meeting, or ask them to forward a message to me and attach a current CV.
Your name will be included in the acknowledgments to 2017 reviewers in the proceedings. If you do not wish to be included, please let me know.
I hope you can assist our TG with the review of 2017 proposals and would appreciate your prompt reply.
Thank you,
Anping Xie, PhD
