Dear colleagues,

The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the
Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Track at the 2017 IISE Annual Conference and
Expo. The annual conference and expo is a forum for exchanging knowledge
and discoveries in the industrial and systems engineering research
community. The 2017 IISE Annual Conference and Expo will be one conference.
There are no longer separate ISERC and Applied Solutions sessions. This
exciting change will bring researchers and practitioners together to share
the latest advances in M&S.

As track chairs of the M&S Track, we would like to encourage you to
contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract. Abstracts are
welcome in the following areas:

Modeling and Simulation in Industry

Modeling and Simulation in Healthcare

Modeling and Simulation for Social Network

Modeling and Simulation in Energy Systems

Modeling and Simulation in Business Process Modeling and Simulation
Education

Modeling and Simulation Methodology Analysis Methodology

Optimization with Simulation

Modeling and Simulation Tools

Complex Systems Simulation

Agent-based Modeling and Simulation

System Dynamics Modeling

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in the
conference. The conference is organized into 80-minute session blocks. Each
session is subdivided based on the presentation type. Oral presentations
form the majority of conference content. The sessions can be one of these
options:

1) Oral Presentation (20 minutes each): This is the standard
presentation format. The presenter should allow a couple of minutes to
answer questions from the audience.

2) Panel Discussion (80 minutes): In this session, a moderator
facilitates a conversation on a specific topic by asking questions of an
expert panel. Panels are limited to no more than five members.

3) Town Hall (80 minutes): These sessions are reserved for designated
affinity groups within IISE.

4) Interactive (80 minutes): These sessions require more time than the
standard oral presentation in order to facilitate an audience participation
exercise that reinforce the presentation topic. These sessions are limited
and should not be chosen just to get extra time.

5) PechaKucha (6 minutes, 40 seconds): These are sessions for simple
presentations in which 20 images are shown, each for 20 seconds. The images
advance automatically and the presenter talks along to the images. More
information about PechaKucha can be found on the submission webpage.

We strongly encourage all presenters to submit a full length paper for the
conference proceedings. The papers should contain results that are
*significant* and have *archival value* to the industrial and systems
engineering research community. Full papers have a *six-page* limit and
will undergo a double-blind peer review process. All accepted papers are
indexed by ProQuest. Presentations without a paper are acceptable, but will
not be indexed in the conference proceedings. The track offers an award for
the Best Track Paper and all accepted papers are eligible for that award.

The important deadlines for the conference are (deadlines are firm):

· Abstract submission deadline:
November 7, 2016

· Notification of Decision on Abstract:
November 28, 2016

· Submission of Full Papers (optional but encouraged):
January 16, 2017

· Notification of Decision on Paper:
February 20, 2017

· Final Version of Full Paper Due:
March 6, 2017

· Presenting Author Registration Deadline:
March 13, 2017

If your abstract or paper is accepted: (a) the presenting author for the
paper must register for the conference by March 13, 2017
(presentations/papers without the presenting author being registered for
the conference will be withdrawn from the program and the proceedings); (b)
the presenting author must attend and present the paper at the conference;
and (c) we ask that you be ready to serve as a reviewer for fellow authors
and follow review deadlines - all authors who submit a paper are expected
to review two papers.

In addition to presentations, the annual conference offers many
opportunities for attendees, including the plant tours, networking, and
keynote speakers.

We look forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh!
