The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the area of Optimization, with a start date of August 2017.

Successful candidates expect to teach optimization and operations research courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and develop strong research programs in optimization with applications to emerging areas, including but not limited to analytics, big data, energy systems and healthcare systems. A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Mid-career candidates must exhibit a strong record of publications and externally funded research.

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is a joint college of two universities, Florida A&M University and Florida State University. The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering is one of the five departments in the college. The department has strong research programs in manufacturing, quality control and data analytics, which are being well supported by federal agencies and industry. The department is also home to the High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI), a center of excellence in developing cost-effective high performance composite materials and nanomaterials and their advanced manufacturing technologies and systems.
