Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position

The Position: The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston has an immediate opening for one non-tenure track (NTT) full-time faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full instructional professor level to teach courses beginning in Fall 2016. The Department offers a range of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.
Appointment: Instructional faculty positions are 9-months, full-time (1.0 FTE/benefits eligible), non-tenure track (NTT) teaching appointments. These appointments are for the academic year and renewable based on funding for these positions.
Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who have a strong commitment for teaching excellence. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, or a closely related field. The qualified candidate must also demonstrate proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
Duties: Duties include teaching up to four (4) sections per semester and other departmental service. Some of the courses to cover include, but not limited to, Probability and Statistics, Engineering Economy, Simulation, Operations Research, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Salary: Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications of the applicant.
Anticipated Start Date: The start date of this appointment is September 1, 2016; official first day of classes begin August 22, 2016.
University and Department: The University of Houston is located in a park-like campus a few minutes from Houston downtown. The Carnegie Foundation recognized UH as a research university with very high research activity. It has approximately 42,000 students. The IE department has recently embarked on an exciting period of research growth and rising in various rankings. The city of Houston is the fourth largest and one of the fastest growing cities in the country and it is often known as "energy city." Several departments in the College have extensive research collaboration in the areas of energy and health.
