Invitation to NASA Workshop on Quality Assurance for Academic Space Projects
Auburn University and NASA are hosting a one day educational and networking session on quality assurance for academic space projects and payloads including SmallSat, CubeSat, rocket, and high altitude balloon. This event is part of the NASA Academy of Aerospace Quality (AAQ) http://aaq.auburn.edu at Auburn University (Alice Smith and Jeff Smith, PIs) sponsored by NASA HQ. There will be presentations and posters by NASA experts and by veteran academic leaders of space bound projects. Networking will be facilitated to share lessons learned and best practices. Travel stipends from NASA are available for some participants (see details below).
http://aaq.auburn.edu/workshop/
The workshop will take place on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Auburn University (Auburn AL) from approximately 8 AM until 3:30 PM. Auburn is located 90 minutes by shuttle or driving from the Atlanta airport.
The target audience includes academics (college and university level and K-12) who are interested in learning more about quality assurance for academic payload projects. Students are welcome to attend with a participating faculty member or teacher. Those without academic affiliation (private industry or public organization) are also welcome to attend.
We invite presentations and posters - see the registration page for details.
No registration fee is charged, but spaces are limited. We have some travel stipends available for selected participants.
Please apply using the link below if you are interested in attending with your name, affiliation and title, and a brief statement on why you would like to attend. Also state whether you wish to be considered for a travel stipend. Preference for travel stipends will be given to academics (from universities, colleges and schools) and those giving presentations and posters. Applications should be made by July 29 for full consideration and attendees being awarded travel stipends will be notified by August 12.
