Teaching Faculty Positions: Industrial Engineering

Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) invites applications for teaching faculty positions at all levels for several openings of non-tenure-stream faculty in Industrial Engineering (IE). Primary responsibility is to teach undergraduate IE courses relating to manufacturing, statistics methods, information systems, and product design.

Established by Sichuan University and the University of Pittsburgh, SCUPI, in Chengdu, China, matriculated its first group of one hundred freshmen in the fall of 2015. The undergraduate program, focused on advanced and sustainable manufacturing, offers majors in IE, Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). SCUPI will grow to a steady-state enrollment of one thousand six hundred students and eighty faculty within seven years. All courses are taught in English. A qualified candidate should have an earned doctoral degree and near native-level English fluency. While the current search focuses primarily on non-tenure stream (NTS) faculty, outstanding tenure-track and temporary (visiting) appointments will also be considered. Terms of employment, including salary, relocation, and start-up packages are competitive and on par with those offered by U.S. universities in the United States. SCUPI faculty are employees of Sichuan University and have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues at Sichuan University and the University of Pittsburgh, and with other partnering universities worldwide.

To apply, please submit a detailed curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests and philosophy, and a list of at least three references (with contact information) to scupi_faculty at scu.edu.cn<mailto:scupi_faculty at scu.edu.cn>. To ensure full consideration, candidates should apply before March 31, 2016, but applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
