Valued IE Colleagues,

Please consider submitting your Lean Six Sigma applications and related research to the 2016 Engineering Lean and Six Sigma Conference presented by the Institute of Industrial Engineers and Lean Educator Conference. The audience will include industrial, management, manufacturing and quality engineers as well as operational and supply chain managers and professional educators. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio on September 14-16, 2016 (see the information attached and http://www.iienet2.org/LeanSixSigma/ for more information).

Lean and Six Sigma have their roots in industrial engineering. Lean tools are traditionally developed by industrial engineers to improve productivity and eliminate wastes while Six Sigma tools are originally used by engineering to improve quality, reliability and defect level of products and services. Many problem solving tools used in Six Sigma and Lean are also basic IE tools: 5S, theory of constraints, structured brainstorming, cause-and-effect, process mapping, preventive control and error proofing. We want you to share your experiences and best practices with our participants.

Please submit your abstract at www.xcdsystem.com/lss<http://www.xcdsystem.com/lss> along with other requested information no later than March 25, 2016. In your abstract, please be sure to include three to four bullet points as learning objectives as to what others can take back to their facility from your experience such as content, methods, tools and techniques, results noted to date, lessons learned, etc. Information must be posted on this site in order for us to efficiently prepare the conference program materials.

You will be asked to upload your PowerPoint slides to the website no later than August 22, 2016 so that the presentation can be uploaded to the web site for conference attendees.

The primary presenter will receive a discounted conference registration of $350 once the abstract/paper has been formally accepted. You will be asked to register for the conference using the procedure that will be e-mailed to you by Carol Le Blanc cleblanc at iienet.org<mailto:cleblanc at iienet.org>, the conference manager.

Thank you for your support of IIE and your consideration of presenting at the 2016 Engineering Lean and Six Sigma Conference.

Thank you,
