Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISYE) at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research invites applications for a faculty position starting January 2017. Academic rank is open.
Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research is dedicated to the advancement of learning through teaching and research, and discovery and application of knowledge. It endeavors to be an internationally recognized research university, with a world class reputation for interdisciplinary teaching and research. The University is actively developing an international network of partners and innovative research programs to advance regionally relevant research and innovation in the UAE and the region at large.
ISYE Department currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and is expecting a rapid growth in the near future. The Department undertakes cutting edge research and educates students in areas such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Operations Research, Quality Management, Lean Systems and Healthcare Engineering Management. The Department has just launched a Master's program in Systems and Engineering Management with specializations in:

Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation,
Lean Manufacturing Systems, and
Healthcare Systems Engineering.

This position involves teaching, research and academic service.

Teaching responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels using the latest instructional technology and teaching methods, and contributing to the development, planning and implementation of high quality curriculum. Faculty are expected to excel in teaching within their area of expertise.

Research responsibilities include carrying out high quality research and producing publications in high impact journals. Moreover, faculty will identify and successfully bid for external funding and grants in their area of expertise, and engage in industrial research projects. These should be done with an eye towards actively raising the Department and Faculty's profile, internally and externally.

Those candidates successfully acquiring this position will be expected to perform academic service, including contributing to departmental or University-wide working groups or committees, contributing to student recruitment, retention and placement efforts, supporting student organization activities, and contributing to the community at large in participatory, developmental and advisory capacities.
Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field from a reputable university. The Department is particularly interested in motivated candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Supply chain, logistics and transportation, production management, lean manufacturing, operations research, and simulation.
The candidate is expected to have a strong research potential, demonstrated by relevant publications in high-impact journals, and teaching experience in above mentioned areas. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills. The medium of instruction at Khalifa University is English.
