The Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech
is seeking outstanding faculty candidates to help lead our instructional
and research efforts in *mathematical optimization and operations
research* starting
in the 2016-2017 academic year.  We particularly seek individuals who are
making strong contributions to the foundations of optimization.
Applications in all areas of optimization are welcome.  Appointments at all
ranks will be considered.  For particularly well-established Full Professor
candidates with outstanding credentials, an Endowed Professorship may be
available.



Applicants should have achieved, or show potential to develop, a strong
program of externally funded research and scholarship.  The position
requires a Ph.D. degree, with at least one degree in industrial engineering
or a closely related field.  We are seeking candidates with exceptional
potential for leadership in research and education, and strong commitment
to high quality research. The successful applicant will also be expected to
provide skilled teaching of foundational and advanced courses at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates for Associate or Full
Professor should have a strong record of research leadership, publications,
and external funding.
