It my pleasure to announce a tenure track faculty position in the area of
Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Berks. Please share the
following advertisement with potential candidates.

 

Assistant Professor of Information Sciences and Technology 

Penn State Berks, a college within the Pennsylvania State University
located in the suburbs of Reading, PA, invites applicants for a
tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of
Information Sciences and Technology.  Penn State Berks offers the
collegiality and intimacy of a small college and the strength of a leading

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Information Sciences, Information Systems,
Computer Science, Decision Sciences or closely related field with a focus
on Information Security and Risk Management. Candidates should have a
demonstrable program of research and must have successfully defended their
dissertation before August 1, 2016.  The successful candidate will teach
courses in the areas of Information Security, Risk Analysis, and Security
and Risk Management, so teaching interest in these subject areas is
preferred.    Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered
environment is desired.   The candidate is expected to establish an active
research program with a strong record of scholarly activity. Participation
in research with undergraduates is also encouraged.  Other duties include
academic advising and career guidance, as well as active participation in
campus, university and community service activities. 

The review process will begin on September 25th and continue until the
position is filled. Applications must be submitted electronically and
should include:  a cover letter; curriculum vitae that includes the names,
addresses, emails, and phone numbers of three references; a statement of
research interests; a statement of teaching philosophy; and an abstract of
the dissertation or more recent research.
