Several PhD positions are available at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in the School of Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM). Drs. Buchanan, Yousefian, and Zhao are looking to hire PhD students in optimization in Spring 2016 or Fall 2016. The deadline for spring applications is October 1st. Research assistantships and scholarships are available for qualified students.

Austin Buchanan (2 students) is an Assistant Professor in the School of IEM at OSU. He obtained his PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2015. His research focuses on solving challenging combinatorial optimization problems arising in the design and analysis of networks.

Farzad Yousefian (2 students) is an Assistant Professor in the School of IEM at OSU. He obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2013. Before he joined OSU, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Pennsylvania State University. His research interests mainly lie in convex optimization under uncertainty, stochastic approximation algorithms, and power systems and markets.
