The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University is seeking applicants for doctoral level graduate research assistantships in the area of statistical learning and optimization to work in the Analytics and Optimization Laboratory beginning Fall 2016.  Current research topics include data mining, risk modeling, and optimization with uncertainty with applications in advanced manufacturing, supply chain logistics, and cyber network security. Multiple research assistantships are available providing tuition and fee waivers and a monthly stipend of $1,800 per month for up to a four year period (contingent upon satisfactory progress and performance).  Additional fellowship supplements to these awards may be available for highly qualified domestic students.  Interested students would complete their PhD degrees under the guidance of Dr. Linkan Bian. Initial screening of complete applications will begin December 1, 2015 with offers expected to be made by February 1, 2016.
