Greetings,


A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Operations Research and Linear
Programming called MOOCOR is offered as community service. This course of
study is made available over the Internet without charge to everybody. All
materials are freely available to anyone who decides to take MOOCOR simply
by visiting the dedicated Web pages for the course. Those who join the
community will also receive guidance, homework and tests that would allow
them go through a formal Introduction to Linear Programming class.



MOOCOR is useful for professionals and students who want to refresh their OR
skills, or students who are taking OR related courses and need a structured
course to help them as a reference. It is designed not to interfere with the
courses offered at other schools but to complement them by providing some
hands-on practice. Ten topics are discussed in the Spring 2015 offering of
the course in four different modules each accompanied by about a 30 minute
video available at YouTube.


I am kindly asking your help in promoting the course through your school,
student organizations, friends, social media and any other resources that
might be available to you to promote the course and encourage people to join
the community.


The 10-week course officially begins on March 7 and will run through May
15th. Joining is very easy and is done by just joining the course Google
Group. The materials for last offering of the course are available at the
course Web site and can be viewed now. The trailer announcement for MOOCOR
is my YouTube channel: youtube.com/c/DrSalimian or through my We site at
salimian.webersedu.com .



For the faculty who are performing research in engineering education fields,
this course offers ample opportunity for experimentation and joint research.
If you are interested in recording a topic of your interest for MOOCOR, or
would like to do joint research in this area, please contact me.
