Call for Nominations for 2017 ISERC Program Chairs

The CIEADH ISERC Oversight committee is seeking nominations for Program Chairs (a team of two people) for the 2017 Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC).  Nominations are due June 30, 2015 (Tuesday).

The responsibilities of the ISERC Program Chairs are to:

*         Assure the quality of the ISERC.

*         Plan the numbers and types of technical sessions, ensuring coverage of sub-areas in ISE and consistent with the conference space available.

*         Select and lead the Organizing Committee; oversee Organizing Committee activities.

*         Develop possible special programs (e.g., connected to a specific conference theme) or innovations in consultation with the CIEADH ISERC Oversight Committee.

*         Determine keynote, panels, and/or tutorials in conjunction with the Organizing Committee.

*         Develop a Call for Papers and Conference Announcement in conjunction with IIE staff.

*         Manage submission of contributed abstracts and their timely review.

*         Select reviewers for submitted conference papers and manage a timely review process.

*         Provide a schedule for technical sessions to IIE Staff.

*         Report to CIEADH ISERC Oversight Committee in conjunction with scheduled CIEADH meetings during the IIE Annual Conference (May) and the Annual INFORMS conference (October or November).  Present a conference summary during CIEADH meetings.

The majority of program planning occurs in the early summer, 9-12 months before the conference.  Abstract review occurs in October or November, and paper review occurs in January and February.

The selected 2017 Program Chairs will serve on the organizing committee for ISERC 2016 (as Incoming Chairs) as well as ISERC 2018 (as Past Chairs).  The Program Chairs of ISERC 2016 and the CIDEAH ISERC Oversight Committee will work closely with the selected individuals to make them knowledgeable of the process.

Nominations should include:

*         A paragraph from the nominating department head/chair highlighting the qualifications of the nominees (a team of two people), commenting specifically on the nominees' organizational skills and experience.

*         The nominees' curriculum vitae

Nominations should be sent electronically to Young-Jun Son (son at sie.arizona.edu).  The Program Chairs will be selected by the CIEADH ISERC Oversight Committee.
