Assistant/ Associate Professor of Engineering

* POSITION SUMMARY: *
The Department of Engineering provides engineering courses to support the
BS in Industrial Engineering, BS in Engineering with specialization in
Mechatronics, and MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering; performs
research in engineering; and provides service to the department, college,
university, the southern Colorado region, and the world.
This tenure track, nine month position provides teaching, scholarship,
advising, service, and direction in all areas of engineering, with emphasis
on industrial engineering.
*POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
**All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU-Pueblo are in accordance
with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide
on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly
activity, research, and service.
*Essential Functions*
- Teaches baccalaureate and master's level courses in the engineering
program in accordance with program needs. These duties include preparing
and presenting course materials; administering appropriate tests;
evaluating student outcomes; selecting and ordering texts; preparing,
administering, and grading assignments; and assigning final grades. Duties
also include proposing curriculum changes and program modifications to the
Department Chair.
- Engages in scholarly activity including grant writing, preparation,
and submission; scholarly work appropriate to the discipline while
including undergraduate and graduate students in research when possible and
appropriate; and dissemination at appropriate national, region, and local
venues.
- Engages in service to the department, college, university, the
southern Colorado region and the engineering profession (including national
organizations).

- Ph.D. or ABD in engineering or closely related field
*Preferred Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math or physical science
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in industrial engineering
- P.E. license or ability to obtain a P.E. license
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- Relevant industrial experience
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: undergraduate
engineering, industrial engineering fundamentals, manufacturing processes,
simulation, quality, operations research, engineering economy, and project
management
- Teaching experience
- Evidence of applied research and external funding
- Ability to develop contacts with local industry

CSU-Pueblo is a regional, comprehensive university. The 275-acre campus,
which overlooks the Front Range of south-central Colorado, is located in
Pueblo, approximately 100 miles south of Denver in one of the more
