The Sustainability Computation and Modeling Research Group at University of South Florida (USF) is seeking one postdoctoral researcher to work on an NSF CAREER project titled "Envisioning Integrated Wastewater Management through the Lens of Reverse Logistics." The objectives of this CAREER are to (1) innovate a decision framework, WasteWATER, that integrates methods and tools from multiple disciplines including reverse logistics, life cycle analysis, and economic valuation; (2) examine the impact of demographics, geography, climate, and urban form on the optimal degree of decentralization; and (3) create context-based learning to train future practitioners.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in operational research (supply chain management, network optimization, facility location, etc.), a background in environmental engineering; especially water and wastewater management and networks, and be able to interact with stakeholder such as water utilities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other researchers involved in an NSF PIRE project "Context Sensitive Implementation of Synergistic Water-Energy Systems" and EPA Center for Reinventing Aging Infrastructure for Nutrient Management (http://usf-reclaim.org/).

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, operations management, environmental engineering or a related field; have a record of high impact peer-reviewed journal publications; prior experience with optimization and water network modeling; and, excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
