Lamar University, Department of Industrial Engineering has multiple
faculty positions open to support our tremendous enrollment increases, our
Center for Advances in Port Management, and our Maritime Safety Research
Initiative.

 

Multiple Faculty Position Openings in Industrial Engineering

 

The Department of Industrial Engineering at Lamar University seeks
applicants for multiple faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level in the areas of Port/Terminal Management or other
Port/Terminal related education and experience, Safety Engineering,
Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or Supply Chain
Management/Logistics. Outstanding candidates in other areas will also be
considered.  Candidates must have a demonstrated potential to
develop/continue a strong sponsored program of externally funded research,
with results published in refereed journals, proven teaching capabilities
(particular interest is in those candidates who have experience in digital
learning such as online and flipped classrooms) primarily at the graduate
level, excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in
teams, ability to work with industry, successfully mentor graduate
students, and provide service to the university and profession. The
department is focused on serving key local industries including the
port/terminal, the maritime/offshore industry, and petrochemical industry.

 

Lamar's Department of Industrial Engineering has 8 full-time tenured and
tenure track faculty. The department has 280 undergraduate students (both
industrial engineering and industrial technology) and 225 masters and
doctoral students. More information about the department can be found at:

teaching statement, three recent publications, and complete contact
