The IEOM Siemens PLM Student Design Competition willrecognize outstanding design created by student(s) using any SiemensProduct Lifecycle Management (PLM)software like NX (formerly known as Unigraphics), Solidedge,Teamceter, and Tecnomatix. Students can submit abstract and presenttheir unique design at the Sixth International Conference on IndustrialEngineering and Operations management to be held at JW Marriott Kuala LumpurHotel onMarch 8, 2016. The presentation will be judged based on the designposter presentation at the conference. A group of academics / professionalswill serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of thejudging. Winners will receive award certificate. Monetary award will beprovided. The winning awards will be given at the 2016 IEOM Kuala LumpurConference award dinner banquet on March 8, 2016.

 

First Prize: $2,000

Second Prize:  $1,000

Third Prize: $500

 

Requirements:

·        Designmust be rendered using SIEMENS PLM SOFTWARE

·        Drawingfile must be in jpg format

·        Imagesmust accompany a submission of IEOM Malaysia 2016

·        Bringa color poster

·        Submita summary of the design in the IEOM submission system

·        Designdid not receive any other award

 

Judging Criteria

Design poster will be judged by industry and academicprofessionals. The following factors will be considered:

·        Impactof the design

·        Complexityand details

·        Innovation

·        Qualityof the design

·        Overallposter presentation

 

Eligibility Criteria

·        Thesubmitter must be a student or recent graduate.

·        A teamcan also participate in the competition

·        Facultyand/or an industry member may serve as an advisor on a project, but the workshould primarily be done by the student(s).

·        Thedesign poster must be prepared by the student(s) with only minor outsideeditorial assistance. One or more advisors may appear as co-authors of anabstract or paper, but the student must be the ‘first author’.

·        The NXdesign must be presented at the 2016 IEOM Annual Conference at JW Marriot KualaLumpur Hotel on March 8, 2016.

SubmissionGuidelines

Authorshould submit an abstract and bring Siemens PLM Design in a poster at the IEOM2016 Kuala Lumpur Conference for presentation.

Judging

Winners

1st,2nd and 3rd place winners will receive award certificates and a monetary prize(First place – $2,000, Second place – $1,000 and Third place – $500).
