Faculty Position in Industrial Engineering

 

The Department of Industrial Engineering at the American University of
Sharjah invites applications for a permanent faculty position at all
levels, with preference for assistant professor rank.  We are seeking
enthusiastic and dynamic candidates in all areas of Industrial
Engineering. The department is particularly interested in candidates with
all educational degrees (B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D.) in Industrial
Engineering. Duties will include teaching undergraduate courses, at both
introductory and advanced levels, in industrial engineering, plus graduate
courses in the well-established Master Program in Engineering Systems
Management. Teaching experience in an American model of higher education
and/or work experience in North American industry are highly desirable.
Active involvement in research and outreach activities and supervision of
graduate students is expected. 

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and a detailed CV
to soeie at aus.edu.  Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2014
and will continue until the position is filled. Successful candidate is
expected to assume duty on February 1st, 2015. 

The successful candidate will join a newly established and growing
department with a great ambition to serve the industrial needs of UAE and
the Gulf region. The Department currently has 8 full-time faculty
positions, approximately 170 undergraduate students and 80 graduate
students.

the United Arab Emirates. The UAE is a highly diversified, technologically
advanced and secure country with an excellent reputation for tourism,
business, and engineering. The University, founded in 1997, is a private,
not-for profit, co-educational institution with a healthy mix between
teaching and research activities.
