Senior Lecturer Position in Ingram School of Engineering
The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University invites applications for two untenured faculty positions at the rank of Senior Lecturer, starting fall 2015 or earlier. The successful candidates will be expected to:
1) 1) Exhibit a strong commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate education.
2) 2) Participate in ongoing accreditation activities for undergraduate degree program.
3) 3) Participate in institutional and professional service.
4) 4) Provide academic advising and career guidance for engineering students.
5) 5) Exhibit a collaborative style that facilitates cooperation and teamwork with faculty in the Ingram School, at Texas State University, and in other institutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
1) 1) Master of Science degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline.
2) 2) Proven ability as an effective teacher in a university environment, or equivalent experience in an industry setting, including presentation, mentoring, assessment, and team management.
3) 3) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
4) 4) Very good oral and written English language skills.
Preferred:
1) 1) An earned doctorate in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline.
2) 2) Experience with accreditation processes and requirements (e.g. ABET or SACS).
3) 3) Experience providing undergraduate academic advising and career guidance.
4) 4) Technical expertise in one or more of the following:
4.1 Circuits/electronics, microcontrollers/microprocessors, digital logic/VLSI, communications/signal processing.
4.2 Operations research, quality and reliability, production and inventory control, lean and six sigma methodologies, sustainable manufacturing and design.
4.3 Tool/machine design, mechanics of materials, control and instrumentation, computer integrated manufacturing.
