A 12-month, full-time postdoctoral scholar position in decision making and applied 
statistics is available beginning 1 February 2015 in the Department of Industrial and 
Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Applicants should have a 
Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or related field, with core competencies in human 
factors and/or applied statistics. Prior research experience in the disaster response 
domain is a plus.

Duties and responsibilities include data management, modeling and analysis; 
collaborative publishing; professional presentations; shared supervision of graduate 
and undergraduate research assistants; and proposal development. The position is 
associated with a three-year NSF-funded project on post-disaster debris removal 
operations (PI: David Mendonça). Renewal beyond the initial 12-month appointment is 
dependent upon performance and the availability of funds.
