The Industrial Engineering Department at Bilkent University is in the
process of hiring faculty members and seeks candidates for multiple
positions. Appointments may be made at Assistant Professor, as well as at
Associate Professor or Full Professor rank for candidates with
commensurate experiences and accomplishments. The candidate must have
obtained, or expected to obtain a PhD degree in a related field.

The department emphasizes both high quality research and teaching. Faculty
duties include research, teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels,
supervision of master and Ph.D. students and other related tasks. The
department welcomes candidates with backgrounds and interests in any of
the following fields:

Health care: Operations research applications in managerial, clinical and
public health problems, medical decision making, deterministic and
stochastic methods in health care research.

Financial Engineering: Financial optimization, continuous-time finance,
statistics for financial applications.

Energy: Expertise in energy related problems including capacity and
technology selection, network design, and pricing.

Production Systems: Stochastic and deterministic methods for planning and
coordination issues in production and service environments; special
interest in design of processes and operational analysis of production and
service systems.

Optimization: Optimization theory, linear, conic and nonlinear
programming, numerical algorithms, large-scale optimization, and
stochastic programming.

Stochastic Processes: Theoretical aspects of stochastic processes, applied
probability, Markov decision processes, queueing models.

The application package should enclose the professional interests and
goals of the candidate in both teaching and research. It should include a
