Dear colleagues:

Please let your students (Seniors and Grads) know that we are seeking
interns for our ongoing manufacturing projects here at our Houston
facility.

Examples of ongoing projects are:
A total systems approach to reduction of downtime in an advanced machining
cell
Reduction of late orders and pending shipments by leveraging Advanced
Planning and Scheduling
Using tablets and visual management signals to guide water striders who
support factory logistics
Time studies and motion analysis to determine upgrades in the
configuration of a flexible machining system
Economic Analysis of the pros vs. cons of standardization of raw material
sizes
In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to work with our
Tiger Team. This is a pilot project that engages a team of employees from
the shopfloor to work with me and our Production Manager to implement 5S,
safety, ergonomics, fixtures that eliminate waste, etc. The experience
gained working with employees to make simple but effective improvements
stick is very worthwhile and a must-have for any IE student!

Interested students should send me their resumes asap.

Thank you.

Shahrukh
