[Iefac.list] Winner Announcement: Seventh Lean Student Paper Competition sponsored by J T. and Carol S. Black

IIE Lean Division is pleased to announce the winners of the seventh Lean
Student Paper Competition sponsored by J T. and Carol S. Black. The
competition recognizes outstanding papers in the field of lean research and
practices.

 

First Place goes to Rehab Ali and Ahmed Deif, Industrial Engineering
Department, Nile University, Cairo, Egypt for the paper titled
“Investigating the Impact of the Dynamics Associated with Increasing
Responsiveness Level on Leanness”.

                                    

Second Place is awarded to Javier Arriaga, Ciro Cárdenas, Juan-Pablo Rivera,
Juan-Carlos Sada and Humberto Campos, Universidad de Monterrey, San Pedro
Garza García, N.L., México for the paper titled “A Lean Route to Increase
Transportation Agility and Food Freshness”.

 

Third Place is awarded to Kshitij Singh Minhas, Siucheuk Fung, Brenda Souza,
Shivang Shah and Minh Ngoc Nguyen, Rutgers, Department of Industrial and
Systems Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New
Brunswick, Piscataway, NJ, USA for the paper titled “Lean Six Sigma Study of
Rutgers Mail Distribution”. 

 

Awards will be given at the annual Honors & Awards Banquet during IIE Annual
Conference in Puerto Rico, May 18 - 22, 2013. The first place winner will be
included in the IIE Annual Award list. Winning papers will be presented at
the Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC), 2013 in
Puerto Rico under Lean Systems Track.
