Call for Presentations
Workshop of
System Informatics and Analytics
The 9th IEEE Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (IEEE CASE
2013)
The 9th IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering
(IEEE CASE 2013), sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society
(RAS), will be held from August 17 to 21, 2013, in Madison, WI, USA. CASE is
the flagship automation conference of the IEEE RAS. There has been growing
interest in System Informatics and Analytics (SIA) research and practice
worldwide to exploit the ubiquitous data available in the system and thus to
achieve system productivity and quality improvement. In an effort to
increase awareness and highlight work in these areas, IEEE CASE 2013 will
offer a workshop on system informatics and analytics. This workshop, which
will be held on August 17th, 2013, focuses on the research and best
practices of system informatics and analytics in manufacturing systems,
healthcare organizations, and various service sectors. The workshop consists
of two major segments. In the first segment, tutorial sessions on advanced
methodologies such as wavelet based signal processing, design and modeling
using computer experiments, system prognostics, and production system-level
monitoring will be offered. The second segment includes various SIA
application cases in manufacturing and service. Researchers and
practitioners are invited to submit their current research results and/or
tutorial proposals in the area of data-driven system modeling and control,
simulation, data mining and knowledge discovery, and management. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
. Data-driven modeling, simulation and management
. Informatics-driven system engineering methods and applications
. Data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
. Quality and reliability engineering
. System and network security
. Prognostics and system health management
. Forecasting techniques and applications
. Data-driven business intelligence and customer relation management
. Applications of information technologies
Important Dates
. May 1, 2013 Presentation abstract submission
. May 15, 2013 Presentation acceptance notification
. June 30, 2013 Deadline of advanced registration
. August 17, 2013 Day of workshop
Workshop Registration:
The workshop registration fee is $100 in addition to the conference
registration. Limited financial support is available. The workshop will only
accept presentation abstracts. The workshop registration and abstract
submissions will be made through the IEEE CASE 2013 website
http://www.case2013.org. To submit abstracts to this workshop, please submit
as "Special Session Presentation-Only Abstract" and use workshop code
"rmab4". If a full paper needs to be included in the conference proceedings,
please also submit the full paper as "Regular Paper". Please address
inquiries regarding the workshop on System Informatics and Analytics at IEEE
