The Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Louisville is seeking candidates for two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor rank.
The J.B. Speed School of Engineering is implementing an ambitious new strategic plan with a vision of excellence in engineering education, research, and community engagement. The plan calls for a major investment in the School's faculty, to ensure a thriving academic enterprise with significant growth in research and scholarly profiles. The Department of Industrial Engineering will play a key role in realizing the Speed School's vision of excellence, and is seeking candidates for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor. In alignment with the School's plan for a strategic expansion of strengths in the areas of Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics and Engineering Human Health, there is strong interest in applications from individuals who specialize in additive manufacturing, ergonomics/human factors, or logistics systems; however, exceptionally qualified individuals who specialize in any area of Industrial Engineering may be considered. Major responsibilities associated with these positions include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising the research of graduate students at the master's and doctoral levels, conducting independent scholarly research, publishing in peer reviewed journals, and acquiring external funding to support the research effort. A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field is required for the position. Although applications will be accepted until the positions are filled, review of applicants will begin in November 2012, since it is very important to have them filled by July 1, 2013.
