The Department of Operational Sciences at the Air Force Institute of
Technology (AFIT) invites applications for a visiting, civilian faculty
position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.  Candidates
should possess an earned doctorate degree in Operations Research, Industrial
Engineering, Management Science, or a related field at the time of
employment and experience appropriate for the position.  The Department
seeks applicants whose interests are in Applied Statistics, Applied
Probability, or Optimization.  Rank and salary are commensurate with
qualifications.  Successful applicants must have a strong commitment to
teaching, research, publishing in high-quality journals, working within a
research team, and a strong methodological foundation. Interdisciplinary
research and multidisciplinary collaborations are encouraged. This is a
one-year position, renewable for multiple years.  Salary is commensurate
with experience and qualifications. This position requires United States
citizenship and the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

 

Located within the AFIT Graduate School of Engineering and Management, the
Department of Operational Sciences offers defense-focused, researched-based
M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research.  AFIT offers a unique blend
of academic and military cultures as the fully-accredited graduate school of
the United States Air Force located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
(WPAFB) near Dayton, Ohio.  Our typical student is a motivated military
officer preparing to design and implement operationally relevant solutions
to problems impacting the defense of our nation.
