The University of South Florida invites applications for a position in
Industrial and Management Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at the University of South Florida invites applications or nominations for a tenured/tenure-track Full/Associate Professor position starting in August 2013.

We seek an outstanding academic leader with research interest in modeling and computation in one or more areas including BigData analytics, cyber physical systems, systems engineering, and national and global issues related to healthcare, public health, energy, water, and others. Desirable candidates will have a record of high quality publications in peer reviewed journals and teaching interest in any IE/OR related areas including (but not limited to) dynamic systems modeling, discrete event simulation, and optimal control. Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in IE/OR related fields, a strong collaborative research program supported in part by competitive federal research funding, and a demonstrable commitment to curriculum innovation, teaching, and student success at all levels. Established academic success including current rank of Associate Professor or above is preferred.

The Department has 14 full time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering, and a fully online M.S. degree in Engineering Management. The department hosts approximately 100 undergraduate, 125 masters and 36 doctoral students.  In 2012, the USF student chapters of IIE and INFORMS received the highest honors "Gold" and "Summa-Cum-Laude," respectively. The Department has strong collaborations with all departments in the College of Engineering and the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Business and Arts & Sciences. The Department also has strong ties with centers and institutes such as the Byrd Alzheimer Institute, Center for Urban Transportation Research, and the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute as well as with organizations outside USF such as the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Florida Medical Manufacturers Consortium, and a number of defense contractors in the area.
