[Iefac.list] Editor-in-Chiefs for IIE Transactions and The Engineering Economist

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and as its Senior Vice-President for publications, I am most delighted to make these two announcements:

  *   Professor Ron Askin, Director of the School of Computing, Informatics and Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University has been selected as the next Editor-in-Chief of IIE Transactions, and
  *   Professor Tom Boucher, Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers has been selected as the next Editor-in-Chief of The Engineering Economist.

We will have a more formal and elaborate announcement in all of our outlets later, but I wanted you to be among the first to know this piece of great news.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Susan Albin also in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers and Professor Joe Hartman, Chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida for their service to IIE and the profession by leading the two journals for the past four and eight years, respectively.

Please join me in congratulating Ron and Tom and wishing them success in taking the two journals to new heights.
