See the sad news below about the death of one of our faculty members 
here at Wisconsin.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  If 
any of you are interested in contributing to the college funds for his

Bentzi Karsh, professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, 
tragically passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 after losing his 
battle with cancer.  He leaves behind his wife Arielle and two children, 
Nadav (3 years), and Emmanuelle (19 months).

Among Bentzi’s research interests were how to apply the tools of 
industrial engineering to health systems in ways that improved patient 
care.  In addition to being a talented young faculty member, Bentzi was 
a native son of Wisconsin and the UW-Madison, having completed his BS, 
MS and PhD degrees here.  His presence as a colleague and friend will be 
greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established college trusts for 
Emmanuelle and Nadav through EdVest.
