A full-time postdoctoral research associate is sought for a newly funded ARPA-E project on "Improved Power Systems Operations Using Advanced Stochastic Optimization."  This individual will contribute to formulating stochastic process models and generating scenario trees, solving large-scale stochastic programming models, and testing the solutions for cost and reliability performance.  This project allows for interdisciplinary interaction with partners from two universities, a U.S. national laboratory, and a software company.  A PhD in industrial engineering, operations research, or a related field is required. Desired attributes include:

*         Experience with formulating and solving stochastic programs.

*         Knowledge of stochastic processes and statistical fitting procedures.

*         Familiarity with object-oriented programming.

*         Understanding of electric power system operations and markets.
