The Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at The University
of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a tenure-track position at
the Assistant Professor level. Outstanding candidates with research
interests in emerging and interdisciplinary areas, e.g. (but not limited
to) Systems Engineering, Energy/Sustainability, Healthcare,
Engineering/Service Systems and Design, are encouraged to apply. For

*Duties and Expectations:* The successful candidate is expected to excel
in teaching undergraduate, graduate, and distance learning courses and
develop and sustain a quality research program funded through external
grants. The research is expected to be innovative and published in
prestigious referred journals. Undergraduate student advising and graduate
student mentoring are also required.
*Required Qualifications:* A Ph.D. degree is required, with at least one
degree in Industrial Engineering or related area. Qualified candidates are
expected to have expertise that will enable them to teach a variety of
undergraduate IE courses. Demonstrated strengths in IE-related areas, such
as systems engineering, operations research, statistics, production
systems, ergonomics, or information/computer science, are desirable.
Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
