IE and SE Colleagues,
Our integrated profession is more vibrant now than it has ever been.
The recent expansion of IERC to ISERC is an explicit demonstration of
the tight coupling of industrial engineering and systems engineering.
The Handbook of Industrial and Systems Engineering (first published in
2006) has enjoyed rave reviews both domestically and internationally. A
good sign of the success of the handbook is the publisher's interest in
publishing a second edition in 2012. We are excited about this
prospect. As a result, we are issuing a call for additional chapters
and revisions of the existing chapters. Topics of interest include (but
are not limited to):
Asset allocation
Construction applications
Cyber systems
Design
Emergency response systems
Energy systems
Engineering economy
Engineering management
Environmental engineering
Ergonomics
Facility maintenance
Healthcare systems
Homeland security systems
Human factors
Human systems integration
Information systems
Lean principles
Logistics
Manufacturing systems
Military applications
New technologies
Operational efficiency
Operations research
Production planning and control
Project management
Quality management
Reliability engineering
Service systems
Simulation
Six sigma
Social responsibility
Statistical analysis
Supply chain design and management
Sustainability
Systems architecture
Systems engineering application
Systems security
Technology management
Work measurement systems
Manuscripts will be required by 30 June 2012. We are looking for
manuscripts between 25 and 35 pages (typed double-spaced, Times Roman
12pts).
Please contact Prof. Adedeji Badiru, handbook editor, at the address
