EMJ New Co-Editor Request for Proposal
ASEM is requesting proposals from interested and qualified persons to fill the position of Co-Editor, Engineering Management Journal. This position is an unpaid service opportunity within the society.
The current intent is for this to be continuing appointment for 5 years. Any comments on this length of service should be addressed in the proposal.
Interested individuals are requested to prepare a proposal which includes, at a minimum, the following items:
• A current CV or resume for the candidate, which includes articles published in referred journals.
• A letter of support from the appropriate supervisor (dean or chair in the case of academic candidates). At this stage a statement of this support by the candidate is acceptable. Prior to appointment the actual letter from the appropriate official will be required.
• A proposal which addresses the following questions:
• What is the support plan for the Co-Editor? This plan should indicate specific support expectations (secretarial, telephone, etc) and the expected source of the support (ASEM, workplace, etc.). Budgetary dollars for the ASEM supplied items are requested.
• What are the candidate's ideas for the journal?
• Direction they propose to co-lead the journal.
• How they will add depth and breadth to the journal in their appointment as Co-Editor by working alongside Toni Doolen.
The Executive Committee of the ASEM Board plans to meet in mid-March, 2012. At that meeting the EMJ Search Committee will make its recommendation for the new Co-Editor and seek approval by the Executive Committee of ASEM.
