WINTER SIMULATION CONFERENCE 2010
PHD COLLOQUIUM & POSTER SESSION
Sponsored by the ACM-SIGSIM and INFORMS-Sim
Sunday, December 5, 2010
Submission Deadline: September 13, 2010
The Ph.D. Colloquium & Poster Session at WSC'10 is an exciting opportunity
for Ph.D. students to present their work to the public.
Professor Leon McGinnis from the Georgia Institute of Technology will start
the afternoon off with a discussion over lunch. Students close to graduation
(planning to graduate by Dec. 2011) will be given an opportunity to showcase
their work during a short presentation session. All Colloquium students will
then participate in the Poster Session.
Both ACM-SIGSIM and INFORMS-Sim provide a complimentary one-year membership
for all students participating in the colloquium.
For students close to graduation participating in both the presentation
session and the poster session, ACM-SIGSIM and INFORMS-Sim will reimburse
their conference registration fee and their lunch. Moreover, ACM-SIGSIM and
INFORMS-Sim will each award a Best Ph.D. Student Paper prize among those
final year students making a presentation at the Ph.D. Colloquium and the
conference.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Posters: All colloquium submissions should include a brief (150-word
maximum) description of the research to be presented in the Poster Session
along with the names of your co-authors. A full-paper submission is not
needed for participating at the colloquium. Submit your application online
at www.wintersim.org (when you submit, select "Ph.D. Colloquium" as the

http://www.wintersim.org/phd.htm.
Presentations: Final year students who wish to take part in the presentation
session should have their thesis advisor send an email confirmation of the
expected graduation date to the Colloquium Chair before September 13, 2010.

the conference. Each Best Paper winner will receive an award of $200. To
